Franco Sarto
Franco Sarto was born in 1949 just outside of Venice, Italy, and began his career by the age of 14 when he started work in a shoe factory where he was to hand-last shoes with a hammer and nails. In his twenties he moved to Stra – Italy’s top location for shoe design. From there he opened a studio with another designer and began to design shoes and sell their prototypes to wholesalers and retailers around the world. Franco Sarto is considered to be a rarity for the fact he understands the hard work put into shoes from a cobbler’s side, and posses the grace and beauty of a world-renowned fashion designer. Franco Sarto always knew designing shoes would be his life, he puts eloquence and style, thought and passion into all of his works of art whether the shoe is a business style loafer or heel designed only for a night on the town.
